Deal for Governor Blog Rss http://www.dealforgovernor.com Deal for GovernorBlog Rss The polls clearly show: We can win on August 10! http://www.dealforgovernor.com/sblog.php?b=3 A post-primary poll by the Deal campaign shows Nathan and Karen Handel are tied at 39 and 38 percent, respectively. Another 23 percent of the voters are undecided. By a margin of 38 to 33 percent, voters say Nathan is the better candidate to beat Roy Barnes and the Democrats in November. This was independently verified on Thursday when Rasmussen Reports released its post-primary poll showing Nathan defeating Barnes beyond the margin of error. The same poll shows Handel and Barnes tied.

Tuesday's primary results are a clear indication that Nathan can win on August 10. Nathan's strong support resulted in his gaining half the vote in many of the heavily Republican North Georgia counties, including many outside of his 9th District base.

These voters will be going back to the polls on August 10 to decide the final runoff of the congressional race. They have a motivation to return to the polls. A runoff is also taking place in the 7th Congressional District where Nathan was strong in all its counties.

Nathan was the first runoff candidate to begin a runoff television campaign and is engaging the supporters of other candidates in the primary. In fact, the poll strongly suggests that Nathan Deal is picking up a significantly larger share of voters who supported other candidates in the primary.

Channel 11 in Atlanta has released a poll showing that Nathan is in a dead heat for second place with Karen Handel. http://www.dealforgovernor.com/sblog.php?b=1 Channel 11 in Atlanta has released a poll showing that Nathan is in a dead heat for second place with Karen Handel. This is EXACTLY where the campaign wants to be with less than a month to go before the July 20th primary. For two months, Nathan has been the ONLY Republican candidate moving up in the polls, while his opponents have seen their support decline or stagnate. These polls, combined with Rasmussen Reports polls showing that Nathan is the strongest Republican candidate to beat Barnes, show that Nathan has the momentum he needs to carry him into the runoff for the Republican nomination.

As governor, Nathan Deal has vowed to bring a law like Arizona's to Georgia. http://www.dealforgovernor.com/sblog.php?b=2 So, with a drug war racking up casualties on our southern border, the Obama administration decides to focus its energies on suing Arizona for merely ENFORCING U.S. law? This is outrageous, and the fact that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced this action to Ecuadorians before the people of Arizona were told only adds insult to injury – and it shows how out of touch the administration is with everyday Americans.

As governor, Nathan Deal has vowed to bring a law like Arizona's to Georgia. Now, we have the need to move even faster on this critical issue so that we can stand side-by-side with the people of Arizona. We have the right as Georgians to enforce our laws if the federal government refuses to do it. It's just sad that this administration has decided to punish states for trying to protect their taxpayers. We're going to fight the administration on unconstitutional mandates in Obamacare. We'll fight them on immigration, too.
