Deal is supported by Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia

Nathan Deal has received the support of The Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia in the Republican runoff for governor. The organization’s political action committee voted on July 19 to back Deal.

The Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia (IIAG) is an association of agencies located throughout Georgia.  IIAG's membership comprises 521 agencies doing business at 663 locations in the state, and employing approximately 5000 people.  Independent agencies represent many insurance companies and provide coverage - automobile, homeowners, and business insurance - for Georgia's families, businesses, local governments, schools and churches.

“We are pleased to be supporting Nathan Deal in the runoff,” said Stark Harbour, president of the IIAG. “Our agents are independent business people located in communities large and small across Georgia.”

Gould Hagler, executive director of IIAG, said the organization’s political action committee voted to back Deal in the runoff.

“Our political action committee looked at the candidates and made the decision to give its support to Nathan Deal, who we believe represents the views of our member agents,” Hagler said.
